Introduction

The Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards (SEAA) have been developed to inspire Singapore-based organisations to become more committed to environmental and social responsibilities. As the only local award that addresses overall environmental initiatives and awareness within an organisation, the SEAA is the most prestigious environmental award in Singapore.

The criterion for the SEAA focus on assessing the leadership displayed by the company, the real environmental improvement made as well as the ability of an organisation to establish procedures, train staff training and innovate in order to achieve environmental breakthroughs in environmental performance.

A new category of award, title the “SEC-Senoko Green Innovation Award”, was established in 2005 focusing on innovative developments and design of both existing and newly introduced technologies. The core criterion for this award focuses recognising innovation in that supports a reduction on environmental impact of products, technological efficiency improvements, the introduction of alternate technologies and/or procedures.

The awards are presented under the umbrella of the Singapore Green Summit Gala event annually and are organised by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and supported by the National Environment Agency (NEA). The SEC is a non-profit, independently managed organization, with a mission to nurture, and facilitate environmental causes in Singapore. SEC works hand-in-hand with both government organizations and the private sector to promote environmentally friendly sustainable practice.

Companies and technologies that win the Awards join an elite rank of businesses around the world that have affirmed their commitment to environmental excellence and protection of the natural environment.

Singapore Green Summit

The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) is the premier environmental awards ceremony cum gala dinner. This is the first ever holistic recognition platform targeted exclusively for industry combining environmental management, product development / innovation and corporate environmental sustainability.

The awards presented during the Summit are:

SEC-Senoko Power Green Innovation Awards.

Deemed as the “Green Oscars” for the Environment, this prestigious event is now established as a significant occasion to honour and highlight outstanding efforts by companies that contribute to environmental sustainability in Singapore. These Awards also represent the organisers’ overall mission to recognise the best environmental practices and management within the industries, as well as to promote the uptake of environmental and social reporting.
