The Community Arm of SEC seeks to foster greater appreciation of the environment amongst the community as a whole. To ensure the widest possible reach, SEC works with many community groups such as local environmental NGOs, youth groups and relevant government departments to encourage and add value to their environmental activities. Community participation and public awareness offer significant potential for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The aims of the Community Arm:

• To serve as a facilitator for community groups involved in environmental projects;
• To get community groups to pool their resources and meet common environmental goals;
• To reach out, increase awareness and inspire the society in general to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle.
